OPSM's Mary is my favourite optician... and Dan, the dispenser, was very thorough from going above and beyond in helping me select frames, to ensuring absolute accuracy in all of the measurements associated with dispensing. Two small criticisms - understanding the OPSM charges and invoice almost requires an accounting degree, and fortunately I had time on my hands for the dispensing process.

It seems my new reading glasses make my eyesight worse. It is like they just left the “display” lenses in! Later….. Well, just an update - I took the glasses back today and was told the short-distance part of the script was left off the instructions to the lens maker (or whatever they are called). That’s great considering they were reading glasses! This just caps off the bad experience, which commenced with my eye test appointment being screwed up and having to return another day for that. So, I will now be without the reading glasses during my holiday. Also, it will be the fourth time I have to return to the store - amazing since all I wanted was the most basic single focal glasses and they couldn’t get that right. I don’t know what has happened in this store as they seem “all over the place”, when usually they are pretty good.

Optometrist was excellent and thorough. However, the sales assistant really provided no assistance. When I queried the charges as the price labels on the frame differed significantly from what she had charged specifically for the frames on the system she became flustered and advised 'You are welcome not to go ahead with the purchase.' Fantastic renovation, but maybe train your staff better I usually order my contacts online, but my prescription date didn’t work. I called on 15/11/2023 to order multifocal contacts for my left eye and spoke to Lydia. I gave her details of my left eye multifocal lenses. Then received an email with an invoice, which was for $ 50.00. I usually pay $105 online. I called again, spoke to Lydia and asked why my contacts were cheaper than online, she explained it because it’s a packet of 3. I asked her to order 6 contacts. I went to pick up my contacts on Saturday 25/11/2023. I had 2 questions 1. Why I’m being charged $120.00 for 6 contacts. When was I sent an invoice for 3 contacts for $50.00? Why not 6 contact for $100 ? 2. What is my prescription date, so I can order online? The staff member had no bloody idea what he was doing. Answer to 1st Question. What happened was the order taken by Lydia was incorrect, she orders my single vision contact even though I read out my script t BC 8.6 DIA 14.00 PWR -4.50 ADD + . When I called again, with my question about the wrong amount, she made up a story about it being only 3 contacts not 6 for the price difference. I was the one working this out, via looking at my emails while staff member on Saturday was looking up the system. Poor customer service from him and Lydia. Answer to 2nd Question I was told my prescription date was 15/11/2023? I explain this was the date I ordered the contacts not my prescription. He asked if, I was sure. Blowing my mind now ! Yes, I’m sure as I haven’t had a car for 3 weeks, due to being in the panel beaters He still couldn’t find, my prescription date, I wasn’t going to leave without my prescription date, so I could order online . 15 mintures later I have my prescription date by another staff member, which was December 2022 Don’t waste your time at this OPSM unless you like being mucked about , and staff making up stories

When I went to get my eyes tested the machine was broken and the optician had to do the test manually. The optician was a bit rude and didn’t not fill out the leaflet fully and didn’t really give me any solutions or advice. I just felt like I was expected to know exactly how eye test works and what stigmas were. I felt really uncomfortable. This was kind of awkward cause I don’t have Medicare and had to pay the full cost but I felt I didn’t get the service. I wasn’t going to write this review as my partner went on the same day and had a great experience and found the girls who helped him very helpful. When we compared our experiences we questioned whether it was because he had private healthcare and would therefore be more willing to spend more or if it was just because he had a nicer optician. Who knows but it really put a damper on the day. The girls on the floor were truly fantastic with my partner so thank you for that but my experience sadly was not the same.
